On Thursday, July 20, a court hearing took place to extend the detention of Sigal Yana Itskovich, who is suspected of killing her six-year-old son and the family dog. During the hearing, the woman broke down in tears, and the court extended her detention for another 15 days.

New information suggests that the tragedy might have been avoided if Itskovich had sought medical help in time. Currently, the woman has told investigators that the murder of her son was ordered by aliens and was not a sudden mental breakdown.

Previously, she had also threatened to jump off a roof with her child. A preliminary psychiatric evaluation indicates that the accused understands what she has done and can answer questions, but there is no full certainty about her ability to stand trial.

Experts recommend that Sigal Itskovich undergo a hospital examination for a more detailed psychiatric evaluation to determine her fitness for trial.
