Tuaregs Express Support for Ukraine

In northwest Africa, in Mali, a significant event has occurred that may become an important milestone in international support for Ukraine. Tuareg rebels have announced their readiness to hand over dozens of Wagner mercenaries captured as prisoners as a symbol of solidarity and support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

The History of the Tuaregs and Their Struggle

The Tuaregs, an ethnic group living in several countries, including northern Mali, began their activities with an uprising against the Malian junta in 2012. The Malian junta is actively supported by Russia, including its military groups like the Wagner Group. Recent events in Mali once again highlight the brutality and aggression of Russian mercenaries.

Statement from CSP-DPA Forces

The CSP-DPA forces, representing the Tuaregs, released a statement:

“Dear Ukrainian brothers, we, the armed forces of CSP-DPA, want to express our solidarity with your fight against Russian criminals. We have captured a significant number of Wagner mercenaries and want to hand them over to you as a sign of support and solidarity.”

Photos and Details of the Incident

Media and Telegram channels have circulated photos of killed and captured Wagner mercenaries. Among the dead was a well-known Russian commander, known by the pseudonym “Lotos,” who led the Wagner Group after the deaths of Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin. This mercenary was involved in the capture of Ukrainian cities Bakhmut and Soledar, leaving behind brutal video footage demonstrating the killings of Ukrainians and desecration of Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies.

Significant Loss for Russian Propaganda

Among the dead was also the administrator of the Z-channel known as “Grey Zone,” notorious for his brutal videos showing the killings of Ukrainians and desecration of Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies. The loss of this blogger is a serious blow to Russian propaganda, which actively used his content to support the war against Ukraine.

Recent Events in Mali

On July 27, an attack took place in Mali on a group of Wagner mercenaries attempting to capture the town of Tinzawatene. As a result of the attack, 80 Russian mercenaries were killed, including “Grey Zone.” This individual was notorious for his brutal videos showing the killings of Ukrainians and desecration of Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies.

Future Transfer of Prisoners

So far, there have been no official statements about the transfer of Wagner Group prisoners to Ukraine, and Ukrainian authorities have not responded to this proposal. However, the gesture of the Tuaregs symbolizes international support for Ukraine and condemnation of Russian aggression.

This step shows that Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression evokes international sympathy and support. The actions of the Tuaregs remind us that even in the most remote corners of the world, people understand the injustice of what is happening and are ready to support Ukraine in its quest for freedom and independence.

Ukraine, as a country fighting for its sovereign rights, can count on the support not only of its Western allies but also of the peoples of Africa, who also face Russian aggression. The Tuaregs demonstrate that solidarity and mutual assistance can overcome any obstacles and distances, uniting peoples in the fight for justice and freedom.
