The publication Time Ukraine Israel, referring to the Varta source, reports that as a result of the attack of the Russian drone on the night of August 1, the house of the Russian oppositionist Ilya Ponomarev was damaged on the outskirts of Kyiv. The politician suffered numerous shrapnel injuries, but his life is not in danger. The investigation of the incident continues, and the version of a targeted attempt on Ponomaryev’s life is being considered.
Event details:
On the night of August 1, the Russian army launched an attack on the Kyiv region using Shahed drones. One of the drones exploded 5 meters from the entrance to Ilya Ponomaryev’s house, causing significant damage. The politician himself received numerous shrapnel wounds, but his condition is stable.
The police of Kyiv and the region started an investigation of this incident, considering it as a possible attempt on the life of a well-known opposition figure. It is worth noting that the day before, on July 31, three drones had already flown to the territory of the Ponomariov site and were shot down by the air defense system. Then they fell at a distance of 50-100 meters from the house, causing minor damage. Initially, it was believed that Ponomaryov’s house was not the target of the attack, but the events of August 1 showed that it was he who was targeted.
