Today, August 4, the ninth competition day begins at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Ukraine is represented by 17 athletes, seven of whom have real chances to compete for medals.
Yuliya Biryukova will compete for awards in cycling, and Iryna Malovichko in bench shooting. In sports gymnastics, Nazar Chepurny and Ihor Radivilov claim the podium. In athletics, Yaroslav Maguchykh and Iryna Gerashchenko will qualify for the high jump finals, while Mykhailo Kohan will try to win a medal in the hammer throw.
Boxer Oleksandr Khizhnyak, who will hold his semi-final match today, deserves special attention. He has already guaranteed himself at least a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Schedule and results of performances of Ukrainians at the 2024 Olympics (August 4):
- 10:00 – Bullet shooting. Small-caliber pistol, 25 m, qualification, accuracy: Pavlo Korostylov, Maksym Horodynets.
- 10:30 – Stand shooting. Skeet, qualification, second day: Iryna Malovichko.
- 12:45 – Athletics. Hammer throw, qualification: Iryna Klimets.
- 13:35 – Athletics. 400 m race, qualification: Anna Ryzhikova, Victoria Tkachuk.
- 14:00 – Bullet shooting. Small-caliber pistol, 25 m, qualification, rapid fire: Pavlo Korostylov, Maksym Horodynets.
- 15:00 – Cycling. Road race, final: Yulia Biryukova.
- 16:30 – Stand shooting. Skeet, final: Iryna Malovichko (potentially).
- 17:24 – Gymnastics. Pole vault, final: Nazar Chepurny, Ihor Radivilov.
- 17:45 – Rowing slalom. Kayak-cross, qualification: Victoria Us.
- 18:22 – Boxing. Up to 80 kg, semi-final: Oleksandr Khizhnyak.
- 20:05 – Athletics. 400 m run, qualification: Oleksandr Pohorilko.
- 20:55 – Athletics. High jump, final: Yaroslava Maguchykh, Iryna Gerashchenko.
- 21:30 – Athletics. Hammer throw, final: Mykhailo Kohan.
In total, 140 athletes in 23 sports will represent Ukraine at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games. Before the start of the ninth day, our national team already has three medals: gold, silver and bronze. Olga Kharlan won bronze in individual saber and, together with Olena Kravatska, Alina Komaschuk and Yulia Bakastova, won gold in team saber. Serhii Kulish replenished the piggy bank with silver in shot put.
