Knife Attack Incident: Arrests in Catalonia
In Catalonia, police have arrested three individuals after Munir Nasraoui, father of prominent footballer Lamine Yamal, was fatally stabbed in a parking lot in Rocafonda, near Barcelona. Nasraoui was taken to a hospital late Wednesday evening with multiple stab wounds and is currently in serious but stable condition.
The police have stated that another arrest is expected on Thursday. Initially, the suspects were to be charged with attempted murder, but the investigation is ongoing, and it is too early to confirm any charges.

The incident occurred a month after Nasraoui garnered media attention for supporting his son during Euro 2024. Lamine Yamal, a 17-year-old player for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, became a tournament hero, and his father was noted for sharing an old photo with Lionel Messi.
The attack reportedly followed an altercation between Nasraoui and several individuals in Rocafonda. Spanish newspaper El País reported that the roots of the dispute go back to an incident where Nasraoui was doused with water from a balcony while walking his dog.
Additionally, last year Nasraoui was fined €546 for insulting and attacking a tent set up for voting by the far-right Vox party. Local residents argue that the party set up the tent to provoke reactions in a neighborhood with a significant immigrant population.
