On August 23, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy announced the early reconnection of another nuclear unit to the national grid following planned maintenance. The move adds 1,000 MW of capacity and increases the stability of the power system, helping to prevent electricity supply restrictions for consumers.

Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko highlighted the extraordinary efforts of Ukrainian energy workers, who are working under challenging conditions to ensure a continuous supply of electricity and heat.

“Today, another nuclear unit has come out of planned maintenance and servicing ahead of schedule, with all safety standards strictly observed. This connection is crucial for balancing our energy system and avoiding potential power supply limitations,” Halushchenko emphasized.
