Ukraine continues to demonstrate unwavering commitment to international humanitarian law, ensuring the protection of civilians in areas under its control in the Kursk region. During military operations, Ukraine’s Defense Forces provide humanitarian aid and secure evacuation routes for residents from conflict zones.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has called on the United Nations to participate in humanitarian efforts in the Kursk region, submitting a formal note to this effect. Additionally, the MFA has sent a request to the International Committee of the Red Cross, as a guarantor of international humanitarian law, asking for monitoring of compliance with the 1949 Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians during wartime.

Ukraine reaffirms its dedication to fulfilling its international obligations and expresses readiness to collaborate with international organizations to provide comprehensive support to the civilian population in the region.

This initiative serves as further evidence of Ukraine’s commitment to act as a civilized European state amid armed conflict.
