The iconic Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy is preparing a special treat for their fans — a new Ukrainian-language album set to release this fall, marking the band’s 30th anniversary. The first track from the album, titled “Mukachevo,” has already been presented and captivates listeners with its sincerity and emotional depth.
The band’s frontman, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, shared that this song holds a special place in his heart. While it may seem autobiographical, he emphasizes that “Mukachevo” reflects the experience of every Ukrainian.
“Some people know who they are, some are searching for the answer, while others never even question it. I urge everyone who connects with this song: don’t just listen, but truly hear it, feel it, and remember yourself through different phases of life — who you were, who you’ve become, and what still ‘hurts,'” Vakarchuk appealed.
The upcoming album promises to be a landmark in Okean Elzy’s history and is set to become the voice of a generation navigating the complex path of discovering their identity.
