Golos Ameriki reports that electoral bodies and officials responsible for organizing elections in six US states received suspicious packages. These packages containing the powder were sent to secretaries of state and local election offices in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wyoming and Oklahoma. This is the second time this year that such parcels have been sent to election officials.

In several states, election authorities have reported the presence of a white powdery substance in envelopes. Although most of the cases turned out to be safe, the incidents led to significant delays and evacuations. For example, in Oklahoma, ordinary flour was found in one of the parcels. In Iowa, a suspicious package caused the evacuation of building employees, although the material received did not pose a threat. In Topeka, Kansas, the local department was also evacuated.

In addition, last November, similar suspicious letters were sent to election offices and government buildings in at least six states, including the same office in Kansas. Although some of the mail contained fentanyl, even mail that was deemed safe caused delays in ballot counts.
