Princess of Wales, wife of Prince William, returned to her official royal duties on Tuesday, attending a meeting focused on early childhood development at Windsor Castle. This marks her first public appearance since announcing the completion of her chemotherapy treatment just a few days ago, according to AFP a.

The engagement signifies Princess Kate’s return to the royal family’s official calendar for the first time since September 9, when she revealed via a video message that she had finished her treatment.

“The Princess of Wales today patroned a meeting dedicated to early childhood development at Windsor Castle,” the palace stated in an announcement Tuesday evening.

According to several British newspapers, this is her first official engagement of 2024. Due to her health condition, her upcoming schedule will remain simplified.

The Princess, whose public appearances often draw media attention, disappeared from the spotlight after Christmas 2023. In January 2024, she was hospitalized for “abdominal surgery,” and in March, she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer, though she did not specify the type.

Her first public appearance since the announcement took place on June 15 during the annual “Trooping the Colour” parade, which celebrates the birthday of the British monarch. She was cheered by the crowds while standing on the official Buckingham Palace balcony alongside the royal family.

In early July, Princess Kate also attended the men’s final at Wimbledon, where she presented the trophy to Spanish champion Carlos Alcaraz.

On September 9, when she announced the end of her chemotherapy, Princess Kate expressed her eagerness to return to work and public engagements in the coming months.
