Ursula von der Leyen Makes Eighth Visit to Ukraine to Discuss EU Support

On September 20, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, arrived in Kyiv for her eighth visit to Ukraine. She announced her arrival on Twitter, stating, “My eighth visit to Kyiv comes as we approach the heating season, with Russia continuing to target energy infrastructure.”

Von der Leyen emphasized that EU countries are prepared to assist Ukraine in its efforts. “I am here to discuss Europe’s support: from winter readiness to defense, from integration to progress on G7 loans,” she added.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between Ukraine and the European Union, particularly concerning energy security and military support.
