The US congresswoman was outraged by the caricature with the pager

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, known for her anti-Israel remarks, criticized a cartoon published by the conservative American publication National Review showing her with an exploding pager, a reference to a recent attack on members of the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. In the picture, the woman says: “WONDERFUL. MY PAGER JUST EXPLODED.” This is reported by cursorinfo.

A cartoon posted Thursday shows a woman with a pager blasting next to her and a sign reading “Representative Tlaib” hanging from a desk.

The cartoon was created by Detroit News columnist Henry Payner, who posted it on his X platform account under the title “Tlaib Pager Hamas.” The Detroit News said it was not involved in the creation or publication of the drawing.

Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American woman in the US Congress, said the drawing intensifies hatred and violence against the Arab and Muslim communities in the US and condemned it as an act of racism. She was supported by other Democratic congressmen such as Cory Bush and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as well as a number of human rights organizations.

National Review has not yet commented on the situation.
