Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in New York during the UN General Assembly. The Ukrainian leader’s press service reported this on Wednesday, September 25.
During the meeting, Zelensky presented Trudeau with the Order of Freedom, expressing gratitude for Canada’s military aid packages, humanitarian assistance, participation in the first Peace Summit, and efforts to bring back Ukrainian children deported by Russia.
Zelensky briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation at the frontlines and emphasized the importance of maintaining Canada’s military support at the same level in next year’s budget.
One of the key topics of their discussion was the implementation of Ukraine’s Peace Formula, aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in the region, as well as fulfilling the agreements reached during the first Peace Summit.
