Zelensky at the UN General Assembly: Ukraine Will Never Accept an Imposed Peace Deal

Зеленський

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Wednesday at the UN forum in New York that his country, which has been at war with Russia for more than two and a half years, “will never” accept a peace agreement imposed by major powers, AFP reports.

Speaking before the UN General Assembly, Zelensky condemned “colonial wars and great power conspiracies at the expense of small nations,” emphasizing that “Ukrainians will never accept” any peace deal with Moscow that is forced upon them.

Zelensky began his address by recalling the day Russian tanks shelled the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, calling it “one of the most horrific moments of the war.” He stressed that Russian forces acted brutally without regard for the potentially “catastrophic” consequences.

The Ukrainian leader underscored that nuclear security is a critical element of his proposed Peace Formula, stating, “Most of the world understands what is at stake.”
