Zelensky acknowledges difficult situation on the frontline, calls for maximum effort

Президент України Володимир Зеленський

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged in his Monday evening video address that the situation on the frontline is “very difficult.” He emphasized the need for Ukrainian forces to do everything possible in the coming months to achieve success.

“The most important thing is to put pressure on Russia, using all available means, to reach a real and just peace for Ukraine and our people as soon as possible,” Zelensky said.

He stressed that every Ukrainian must contribute to victory this fall. “Everything that can be done this autumn, everything we can achieve, must be done. This depends on every one of us,” he stated.

Zelensky also announced preparations for a crucial summit at the U.S. Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where U.S. President Joe Biden and leaders from 50 countries will gather. The summit will focus on the next steps to support Ukraine both on the battlefield and through diplomatic efforts.

The president continues to urge for the supply of more air defense systems to better protect Ukrainian cities from Russian missiles and drones. According to the Ukrainian military, 29 out of 32 drones launched by Russia were shot down overnight on Tuesday.
