Iran’s president threatens tough response if Israel does not cease “crimes” – Reuters

Президент Ірану Масуд Пезешкіян

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned on Wednesday that Israel would face a harsh response if it does not halt what he called its “crimes,” according to Reuters. The warning came a day after Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, while Israel escalated its war with Iran-backed Hezbollah by sending troops across the border into Lebanon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to take retaliatory action following the missile strikes.

“If the Zionist regime (Israel) does not stop its crimes, it will face a tougher reaction,” Pezeshkian said, as he departed for a scheduled visit to Qatar, state media reported. During the trip, Pezeshkian is expected to discuss bilateral relations and sign agreements with the Qatari government.

He will also attend the Asian Cooperation Dialogue summit, where one of the key topics, according to Pezeshkian, will be how Asian countries can prevent Israel’s “crimes” in the region and avoid further destabilization in the Middle East.
