The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) neutralised a senior leader of the Hamas terrorist network in Tulkarm, as well as a group of other militants involved in terrorist activities, the IDF Telegram channel reports.

According to an official statement by the IDF, on 3 October, the Israeli military conducted an operation in Tulkarm, a city in the West Bank, where Zahi Yasser Abd al-Razek Ufi, the head of the local Hamas network, was killed.

Ufi, according to the Israeli military, was behind the organisation of an attempted car bombing in the Israeli settlement of Ateret on 2 September 2024. He supplied weapons to terrorists, organised numerous attacks on civilian targets in Judea and Samaria, and planned new large-scale terrorist acts.

The IDF emphasises that Ufi played a key role in strengthening Hamas’s influence in the region, assisting terrorists in carrying out attacks, shootings and bombings. Along with him, several other important members of the terrorist network were eliminated.

This operation is another step in Israel’s fight against terrorism, aimed at protecting its citizens from the threats posed by Hamas.
