On the night of 5 October, the Israeli military forces(IDF) conducted a large-scale operation against the Hezbollah terrorist organisation. The attack was carried out on the militants’ headquarters, located in a mosque near the Salah Andor hospital in southern Lebanon.

The move was the result of intelligence from the Military Intelligence Agency (AMAN) and orders from the Northern District Command. It is known that the headquarters was used by Hizbullah to plan attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.

Prior to the operation, the IDF sent out notices to civilians to leave the area. The military also held talks with local representatives in the villages near the hospitals to ensure the safety of civilians.

It is worth noting that the IDF claims that Hizbullah violates the laws of war by using medical facilities for its terrorist purposes. The Israeli authorities are calling on hospitals to cut ties with the militants to avoid further hostilities that threaten the safety of civilians.

This situation has caused concern among the international community, as escalating violence in the region could lead to new humanitarian crises. The Israeli authorities emphasise their readiness to protect their citizens, but call for compliance with international norms in the conduct of hostilities.
