IDF eliminates key Hamas terrorists in Lebanon

In a joint statement, the Israeli Defence Forces and special forces announced the successful completion of operations that resulted in the elimination of two high-ranking members of Hamas’ military wing in Lebanon.

Today, on 5 October, the Israeli Air Force struck at Mohammed Hussein Ali al-Mahmoud, who served as Hamas’ coordinator in Lebanon and was responsible for terrorist activities in the Judea and Samaria. In recent years, al-Mahmoud has been actively promoting terrorist attacks against Israelis, both inside and outside the country. He has also been strengthening Hamas’s positions in Lebanon, trying to secure the supply of weapons for rocket attacks on Israel.

In addition, in an additional operation conducted on Saturday night in the Tripoli area, Sayyid Alaa Naif Ali, another highly professional Hamas member, who was also involved in terrorist attacks against Israeli targets and recruitment of new fighters, was eliminated.

These actions are part of the Israeli Defence Forces’ large-scale efforts to eliminate Hamas threats in all regions where they can threaten the security of Israelis. According to experts, these operations will significantly weaken Hamas’ ability to carry out terrorist activities from Lebanon.

The Israeli military stressed its determination to continue the fight against terrorism and protect its citizens, despite the difficulties it faces in this fight.
