According to Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky on his Telegram channel, Rosh Hashanah celebrations in Uman are taking place in a calm atmosphere. Israeli police are working with their Ukrainian counterparts to ensure order and security during the celebrations.
Representatives of the Israeli embassy are providing consular assistance to the pilgrims on the spot. Tomorrow and the day after, most of the 30,000 pilgrims are expected to leave Ukraine and return to Israel.
The celebration of Rosh Hashanah, which marks the new year in the Jewish calendar, traditionally attracts numerous pilgrims to Uman, which has great religious significance for Jews from all over the world.
