Today, a terrorist attack took place at Beersheba’s central train station, leaving three people stabbed, one of whom is in serious condition. The incident occurred at around 14:27, when the MDA hotline received a report of injuries near the railway station.
Circumstances of the attack
Shots were heard at the station at the time of the attack. Eli Bin, Director General of the MDA’s emergency medical service, confirmed that medics and paramedics were already at the scene to treat the victims. As a result of the attack, one of the victims is in serious condition, while the other two sustained moderate injuries.
Reaction and investigation
Elie Bin also said that the terrorist had been neutralised, but the incident was still ongoing and officials were checking for other threats in the area. “We will check if there is another arena,” he added.
Eyewitness testimonies
Among those who were at the station was the mother of one of the soldiers who was hiding during the attack. In a conversation with Ynet, she expressed concern: “I can’t get through to my daughter. She is hiding in the bathroom. She said to me: “I’m hiding, I can’t talk to the other soldiers.”
This incident was another reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism in the region and the need to strengthen security measures.
