Russia has moved about 50,000 troops to the Kursk region, which has significantly weakened its position on the frontline in Ukraine. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in a documentary broadcast during a telethon on 10 October, Suspilne reports .
Syrsky noted that these forces were redeployed from other areas where Russia had previously conducted offensive operations. As a result, Russian groups have weakened on key fronts, in particular in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, as well as in the Kramatorsk direction.
“This has made it easier for us to conduct a defensive operation,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief stressed.
The movement of such significant military forces to the Kursk region indicates a change in Russia’s strategy, but also creates vulnerabilities on the front line in Ukraine that Ukrainian forces can exploit for further counter-offensive actions.
