11 October 2024 – Israeli military operations continue on several fronts as part of the Iron Swords War, which began on 7 October 2023. On the 371st day of hostilities, the IDF is actively attacking targets in Lebanon and Gaza, as well as conducting operations in Judea and Samaria. According to the press service of the Israeli Defence Forces, the operations are aimed at neutralising threats from terrorist groups, including Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad. According to newsru, the fighting is accompanied by rocket attacks by terrorists, including the killing of a foreign worker in the Upper Galilee.
Timeline of events on 11 October 2024:
10:00 – The IDF killed the commander of the Raduana anti-tank group, Harib al-Shadjaa, who was responsible for numerous attacks on Israeli territory. A precision strike in southern Lebanon also destroyed rocket launchers that threatened Israel. Secondary explosions after the strikes indicated the destruction of militant ammunition depots.
09:00 – An anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon hits a target in the Upper Galilee, killing a 27-year-old Thai national. In response, the Israeli army struck Hezbollah positions in the Shebaa area of southern Lebanon. An alert was declared in the border areas with Lebanon, in particular in Zarit.
08:00 – An anti-tank missile from Lebanon hits IDF positions in the Upper Galilee. Rocket fire also hit the Kiryat Bialik and Akko areas. A rocket attack was recorded in Kiryat Shmona, but no casualties were reported.
07:00 – In the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces blow up houses used by terrorists in the Jabaliya area and fire at the centre of the Strip, near Al-Bureij.
06:00 – An alert was issued in the Ashkelon area due to a UAV incursion from Gaza, followed by more rocket attacks.
05:00 – IDF operations continue in Nusairat, in the centre of the Gaza Strip, and in Ramallah, where several suspects were detained.
04:00 – IDF launches an operation in Azzun village east of Qalqilya and Shema.
03:00 – IDF forces are active in Gaza, continuing to shell militant positions in Zaytun and Nusairat.
02:00 – In Gaza, IDF artillery continues to hit targets in the city centre.
01:00 – An Israeli drone strike on a terrorist vehicle in Tul Karem kills two militants, including the leader of the local Islamic Jihad cell.
00:00 – A strike on the Gaza Strip in the Sheikh Radwan area killed at least five militants.
Activity of militant groups
Despite the nightly lull, terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon continue to fire rockets at Israeli cities and settlements. The last alert was recorded near the border with Gaza on 9 October, and near the border with Lebanon on 10 October.
