Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris intends to release her medical report on Saturday. The move is aimed at highlighting the reluctance of her rival, Republican Donald Trump, to do the same. Reuters reports this with reference to an adviser to Harris.

According to her medical dossier, Harris “possesses the physical and mental stamina necessary to successfully perform the duties of the presidency, including the roles of chief executive, head of state, and commander-in-chief,” the adviser said.

Harris, 59, is running against Trump, 78, for the presidency. Her campaign is focusing on the age gap between the candidates, as President Joe Biden, who is 81, decided not to run, handing the presidency to Harris after a poor performance in the debate. Trump, for his part, became the oldest candidate in the race.

The contest between the Democrats and Republicans remains very tight. The Harris campaign hopes that the comparison of her youth and clear mind to Trump’s age, his tendency to deviate from the topic, and the difference in the level of openness will help undecided voters to choose in her favour.
