In the forests of Kyiv region, mushroom pickers and foresters have been coming across dangerous military remnants in recent days. The sappers of the Mobile Rescue Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine promptly defused the munitions that could pose a threat.
This was reported by the My Kyivshchyna portal with reference to the SES press service.
The first incident occurred in the village of Moshchun, Bucha district. While walking in the woods, mushroom pickers came across a suspicious object that resembled the remains of a rocket. Acting responsibly, they immediately called the sappers. Upon arrival, the SES specialists found that the remnants did not pose an immediate danger. Thanks to the caution of the citizens, who did not touch the objects and moved to a safe distance, the situation was controlled.
Another alarming incident occurred near the village of Novosilky in Vyshhorod district. A forester was inspecting the area and found a suspicious metal object. The sappers quickly arrived at the scene and found out that it was a VOG-25 grenade launcher. Experts promptly removed the dangerous munition and delivered it to a special site for destruction. The area was thoroughly examined and no other dangerous findings were found.
These cases are a reminder of the constant danger that remains as a result of the hostilities and the importance of responding immediately to suspicious findings. In cooperation with citizens, sappers continue to ensure safety in the liberated territories.
