The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has released video footage that, according to them, documents the last moments of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s life before his assassination. This was reported by CNN with reference to Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagar.

According to the released drone video, Sinwar was inside the damaged building. He was sitting motionless on a chair, but according to the Israeli military, he was looking towards the drone. Sinwar’s face was covered in the video, and according to Hagari, the Hamas leader was shot in the arm.

The footage also shows an unidentified person holding an object, which the IDF identified as a piece of wood, which was thrown in the direction of the drone.

After an Israeli tank struck the building where Sinwar was staying, a drone recorded his body in the rubble. Only after Israeli soldiers entered the scene did they finally identify the deceased as a Hamas leader.

The elimination of Sinwar was an important milestone for Israel in its war against the Hamas terrorist organisation that rules the Gaza Strip.
