At the meeting of G7 Defence Ministers, chaired by Italy, Defence Minister Guido Crozetto warned of increasing global instability. He noted that Russia’s brutal aggression in Ukraine, the critical situation in the Middle East, deep instability in sub-Saharan Africa and growing tensions in the Indo-Pacific region create a complex and dangerous security picture in the world, Reuters reports.

Crozetto emphasised that these conflicts, although seemingly geographically distant, have “deep and interconnected dynamics” that directly affect the G7 countries – the United States, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. He also called for respect for international law as the basis for maintaining world order, contrasting it with countries that use military force to achieve their own goals, ignoring the principles of democracy.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell also addressed the summit, stressing the importance of coordination to ensure global stability and security.
