Last night, Kyiv was attacked by enemy drones again. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on his Telegram channel, the debris from the downed drones damaged residential buildings in two districts of the capital – Solomianskyi and Holosiivskyi. Fortunately, thanks to the prompt work of rescuers, significant damage and casualties were avoided.
In Solomianskyi district, debris caused the roof of a private residential building to catch fire. Firefighters responded immediately and contained the fire. One victim, who sustained minor injuries, was examined by medics on the spot and provided with the necessary assistance.
Meanwhile, in Holosiivskyi district, shrapnel damaged a window and wall decoration in a nine-storey residential building. Fortunately, no fire broke out and the residents were not injured.
This incident once again underscores the importance of the operational work of the capital’s services, which ensure the safety of Kyiv residents in the difficult conditions of war on a daily basis. The authorities urge citizens to stay in shelters during air raid alerts and follow all recommendations of the emergency services.
Context of the attack: a new wave of attacks on the capital
Attacks on Kyiv using drones and missiles are not a new phenomenon in this war. However, in recent months, the enemy has significantly intensified its efforts to terrorise civilians. According to experts, the purpose of such attacks is to demoralise the population and put pressure on the Ukrainian authorities.
Despite this, the air defence system continues to demonstrate a high level of protection, destroying most threats in the air. However, the debris from downed targets still poses a danger, as it can cause destruction and ignition on the ground.
It is worth reminding you that it is important to remain calm and not to ignore air raid warnings. The capital’s authorities are making every effort to ensure safety, but the protection of one’s own life also depends on the responsibility of each citizen.
