North Korean servicemen attempted to escape from the positions of Russian troops in Kursk region, but were detained by Russian troops in Bryansk region. This was reported by sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine to the Ukrinform news agency.
Escape attempt and apprehension
Eighteen DPRK servicemen who tried to escape from their positions in Kursk region were detained by Russians in Komaritsky district of Bryansk region. According to sources, the North Koreans may be involved in assault operations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
At the time of their detention, the North Korean servicemen were in positions in the forest in the Kolyachek area of the Khomutov district of Kursk region, where they were training together with fifty Russian occupiers.
Study and living conditions
Reportedly, about 40 military instructors from North Korea taught Russian soldiers how to use balloons for military purposes. At the same time, Russian servicemen shared with the North Koreans the experience of modern infantry combat in the context of the so-called special military operation.
After completing the training course, the North Korean military remained in the forest for several days without food and without clear instructions on how to proceed.
The road to freedom
On 14 October, some North Koreans decided to leave their positions in order to search for the command of the Russian Armed Forces. Within two days, on 16 October, the detained servicemen were found by the Russian occupiers at a distance of approximately 60 kilometres from the place of escape.
Now all 40 DPRK soldiers who were at the positions in Khomutov district have been moved to Lgovsky district of Kursk region for further involvement in assault operations in Kursk region.
This situation underscores not only the complexity of internal processes in the Russian armed forces, but also the tensions between North Korea and Russia amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
