Ukraine has signed a grant agreement with France totalling €200 million to finance projects to restore and modernise critical infrastructure. This was announced on Tuesday, 22 October, by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The agreement was signed by First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine Gael Veyer.
“We have signed an Implementation Agreement that allows us to attract €200 million in grant assistance. Up to 50% of these funds will be used to purchase Ukrainian goods and services for recovery projects,” Svyrydenko stressed.
The grants will be used to implement projects in key sectors such as healthcare, energy, water, demining, digital technologies, infrastructure, agriculture, waste management and housing. Cooperation with French companies, which employ 25,000 people in Ukraine, will also be an important part of these projects.
This agreement is another step in strengthening economic ties between Ukraine and France, aimed at rebuilding the country after the devastation caused by the war.
