Tonight, on 30 October 2024, Kyiv once again came under a brutal attack by the enemy. This time, the private Jewish school and kindergarten “Pearl” came under fire. Fortunately, there were no human casualties, but the educational institution suffered significant damage.
The Pearl School and Kindergarten is of particular importance to the town. Founded in 2001, the institution has become not only an educational centre but also a symbol of unity and mutual support. It was here that the son of Inna Sergienko, the founder of the Child with a Future NGO and Autism Europe Consul, studied. Later, this experience inspired Inna to create an NGO and her own kindergarten for children with autism, which has become an important part of the educational network in Ukraine.
The Pearl’s territory is now vandalised: the fence and surrounding area have been destroyed, windows have been broken, and children’s rooms have been damaged. The facility, which has been a safe space for children for decades, now needs urgent help to rebuild.
The organisers are calling on people who care to support Perlyna in this difficult time, as the restoration of the institution is not only about repairing walls and furniture, but also about giving children a sense of security and the opportunity to learn.
