During the night attack on the capital of Ukraine, the building of the Pearl Jewish school was seriously damaged. According to TimeUkraineIsrael, citing Mikhail Brodsky’s telegram channel, no one was in the school at the time of the attack, which helped to avoid civilian casualties.
The attack also caused serious damage to a nearby residential building, where several people were injured. Both adults and children were among the victims, demonstrating the danger posed by Russian drones to civilian neighbourhoods in Kyiv.
In the morning, Kyiv Chief Rabbi Jonathan Markowitz received words of support and assurances that the educational process for the children of the Jewish community would resume as soon as possible. The community is already working to coordinate aid and restore the damaged building so that the school can return to work as soon as possible.
