Overnight, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine faced a new challenge in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine. The village of Donetske, Kramatorsk district, was shelled by Russian troops, causing significant damage.

The first strike was on a non-residential building, which resulted in the destruction of 750 square metres of structures. Firefighters immediately arrived at the scene and promptly extinguished the flames and prevented further spread of the fire.

The enemy also attacked a local business, causing the roof and ceilings of the building to catch fire. The rescuers, risking their own lives and health due to the possibility of repeated attacks, quickly extinguished the fire, covering an area of 100 square metres.

Fortunately, thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of the SES, no civilian casualties were reported. These events once again underline the importance and necessity of the work of rescue services in the context of armed conflict, as well as the courage and professionalism of their employees.
