As of 31 October 2024, the situation on the frontline remains tense. Since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have intensified their offensive, with 79 combat engagements recorded along the entire frontline. The enemy is most active at the Liman, Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions. This is reported by the news portal TimeUkraineIsrael, citing the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Artillery shelling in Sumy and Chernihiv regions
Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation. Hostile fire is hitting the areas of border settlements, including Pokrovka, Bachivsk, Shalygino, Novenke, Leonivka, Basivka, Pavlivka and Korenok.
In addition, seven air strikes were reported in the Kursk region, during which Russian aircraft dropped 13 bombs.
Situation in the Kharkiv sector
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy continues to attack near Vovchansk. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled two offensive attempts in the area.
Kupyansk and Lyman directions
In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops seven times near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Lozova, Berestove and Vyshneve. Six firefights are ongoing.
In the Liman sector, 12 attacks on Ukrainian troops’ positions were registered in the areas of Katerynivka, Stepove, Hrekivka, Terny and Serebryansky forest. Eight combat engagements ended, four are ongoing, with the occupants using multiple rocket launchers.
Activity in the Toretsk and Pokrovske directions
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy twice tried to improve their positions, but the Ukrainian military provided a worthy response. It is known that four aerial bombs were dropped in the area of Katerynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian troops have already made ten attempts to push our defenders from their positions, with fighting continuing near Promin, Lysivka and Vyshneve. Attacks by Ukrainian military aircraft on the towns of Myroliubivka and Myrnohrad were also recorded.
Kurakhivske and Vremivske directions
In the Kurakhivka sector, 22 hostile attacks were registered in the areas of Novoselydivka, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Ostrovske, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka and Yelizavetivka. The occupants were most active in the area of Antonivka, where they conducted ten attacks.
In the Vremivsk sector, two firefights continue near Bohoyavlenka and Trudove, where two attacks have already been repelled.
General situation at the front
In the Orikhivsk sector, the enemy attacked twice in the direction of Novodanilivka. Eight guided aerial bombs were dropped on Yurkivka, Tavriyske and in the area of Mala Tokmachka. Two enemy attacks were successfully repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
In other areas, the situation remains unchanged.
