Ukraine’s membership in NATO is becoming more realistic: Allies are approaching consensus – Yermak

Керівник Офісу Президента Андрій Єрмак

Support for Ukraine’s future full membership is growing among NATO members. This was stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, during his visit to Canada, Ukrinform reports.

“I do not believe that Ukraine can be made strong without an invitation to NATO… Of course, this is impossible without the consensus of the Alliance member states, but I think we are close to such a consensus,” Yermak said. According to him, the trend of support for Ukraine’s invitation is positive.

“The majority of NATO members already support this decision, and we need to continue to work with those who still have doubts. I see no alternative to resolving this issue,” he said. Yermak stressed that in the modern world there is no better guarantee of security than membership in the Alliance: “If someone comes up with something more powerful, Ukraine will be the first to join this initiative.”

As you know, the first point of the Victory Plan presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is to invite Ukraine to join NATO.
