The Asset Recovery and Management Agency of Ukraine (ARMA) has started legalising the decision of a domestic court to transfer the seized An-124-100 Ruslan aircraft to the agency’s management. These aircraft belong to the Russian airline Volga-Dnipro, which is the largest commercial airline in Russia. This was reported by Olena Duma, the head of the ARMA.
According to the Duma, ARMA has already sent a request to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. This action is based on Article 545 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, which regulates such procedures.
The seizure of the Ruslan aircraft took place in March 2022, when Ukraine responded to Russia’s aggressive actions by seizing significant assets of Russian companies on its territory. This step is aimed not only at punishing the aggressor, but also at trying to restore justice by using the seized assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
ARMA’s actions are part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to ensure national security and the effective management of seized assets, including important infrastructure and commercial facilities.
