The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) informs about the successful detention of 10 people accused of conducting hostile propaganda and subversive activities. The operations took place in four regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Vinnytsia regions. Among the detainees was a “political expert” from Viktor Medvedchuk’s media pool, known for his activities on channels that promoted Kremlin narratives.
According to the SSU Head, the criminals were involved in a coordinated campaign aimed at undermining socio-political stability in Ukraine, disrupting mobilisation activities and justifying Russia’s armed aggression.
A political expert was detained in the Kyiv region, whose membership in the FSS agent network has been confirmed. He had been working with the editor-in-chief of the Politnavigator website, Serhiy Stepanov, who is currently hiding in Crimea. An administrator of YouTube and Telegram channels was detained in Vinnytsia, who used his platforms to conduct anti-government actions and misappropriate funds intended to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Three bloggers were found in Zhytomyr region who called for violence against representatives of military registration and enlistment offices and leaked important information about the movement of Ukrainian troops. In Chernihiv region, a group that shared confidential data on the locations and routes of Ukrainian troops was exposed.
Based on the collected evidence, all the suspects have already been served notices of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including high treason and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The special operations were conducted under the procedural supervision of the relevant regional prosecutor’s offices.
