Ukrainians will be able to direct UAH 1000 of winter “eSupport” to help the army through charitable foundations

1000 грн

Every Ukrainian who receives UAH 1,000 as part of the winter programme “ePromotion” will have the opportunity to support the Ukrainian army by transferring these funds to defence needs through charities and volunteer organisations. This was announced by First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko during a meeting with representatives of the charity sector, Ukrinform reports citing the Ministry of Economy.

“The main priority in funding now is defence and military salaries. Thanks to the winter programme, every citizen who receives UAH 1,000 from the state will be able to use these funds to support the army through charitable foundations. The funds will be credited to the National Cashback card, which will allow them to be easily transferred to the needs of the army, including the purchase of drones and electronic warfare equipment,” Svyrydenko explained.

National Cashback Programme: supporting citizens and the army

According to the initiative, the money will be transferred to a special National Cashback card, which can be opened in 12 Ukrainian banks and activated through the Diia app. Citizens will be able to use this amount to pay for utilities, travel, cultural events, purchase Ukrainian books, and support defence through donations to charities. The possibility of including the cost of Ukrainian medicines in the programme is being considered.

The minister thanked the donors for their contribution and called for more active information about the new programme. This reinforces the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who instructed the government to introduce a new programme from 1 December to help people get involved in supporting the country and the defence sector.
