The morning of 6 November 2024 marked the beginning of the nine hundred and eightieth day of Ukraine’s heroic resistance to the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provided to TimeUkraineIsrael, the situation on the front remains tense and dynamic.
Intensity of fighting and enemy air attacks
Over the past day, 140 combat engagements were recorded, indicating that the occupiers are active on all major fronts. The Russian side carried out three missile attacks and 97 air raids, using 142 guided aerial bombs and 1,370 kamikaze drones. Ukrainian positions and settlements were subjected to more than 4,000 artillery attacks, 79 of which were made with multiple launch rocket systems.
Directions and most fierce points of confrontation
- Sumy region: Russian aircraft attacked the settlements of Velyka Pysarivka, Bilovody, Popivka, Zarutske and Kiyanytsia.
- Kharkiv region: Fighting took place in the areas of Pytomnyk, Kozacha Lopan, Bochkove, Bayrak, Petropavlivka and Prystin, where the occupiers tried to break through the defences.
- Donetsk region: The aggressor attacked Toretsk, Kostyantynivka, Druzhba, Valentynivka and other localities. In the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions, a total of 89 attacks were repelled in the areas of Selydove, Hrodivka, Illinka, Novoselydivka and Yelizavetivka.
- Zaporizhzhia region: The enemy actively attacked Novodarivka, Bilohirsk and Mala Tokmachka, in particular, using attack aircraft to inflict maximum losses.
- Luhansk region: Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny and Katerynivka, where the enemy tried to break into defensive positions.
A powerful response from the Ukrainian Defence Forces
Ukrainian defenders, including aviation, missile forces and artillery, inflicted significant losses on the Russian occupiers. Seven areas of concentration of enemy manpower and equipment, two UAV ground control stations, one control point and an ammunition depot were destroyed.
In the Kurakhivka and Vremivsk directions, our troops destroyed 56 attacks, forcing the enemy to retreat with heavy losses. The enemy also suffered a defeat in the Prydniprovia sector, where its attempts to advance failed.
Total enemy losses
Over the last day, Russian occupants suffered over 1250 casualties. Six tanks, 11 armoured combat vehicles, 20 artillery systems, 57 operational-level drones, 55 vehicles and one unit of special equipment were destroyed.
Every day, Ukrainian defenders demonstrate resilience and unwavering will, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. This war has been going on for almost a thousand days, but Ukraine’s strength and unity remain unshakable.
