Inbal Or, one of Israel’s most prominent real estate entrepreneurs, disappeared on the eve of the verdict in a case in which she was accused of serious financial crimes. When police arrived at her home, they found the house empty and her car missing. This initially raised concerns about her possible escape. Only after the investigator was able to contact Inbal Or by phone did she make a sensational statement. According to the businesswoman, she is no longer an Israeli citizen and does not intend to participate in the trial. Or said that because of this, she could not be brought to trial in Israel. She did not respond to questions about her whereabouts.
Previous incidents with the defendant
This is not the first time Inbal Or has avoided court hearings. At the end of last month, an investigator arrived at her home to serve her with an official notice to appear in court. However, Or staged a conflict, throwing the document on the floor and refusing to cooperate with law enforcement.
Absence of the defendant at the hearing
Due to her absence, the court decided to postpone the hearing. Judge Dana Amir, who was in charge of the case, ordered that Or be brought to court with the help of the police. However, when the police tried to take the defendant to the hearing, they found that she was no longer at home.
