President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian defenders of the sky for their dedication and courage in the fight against Russian terror, which last night once again brought death and destruction to peaceful cities. In his Telegram message, the President particularly noted the work of the military, who repelled another wave of massive drone and missile attacks aimed at Odesa, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions.
“Throughout the evening and night, terrorists attacked our cities and communities using missiles, drones and guided aerial bombs. Odesa, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions suffered the most. In Kharkiv, more than 20 people have been reported injured, including a baby. Residential buildings and important infrastructure have been damaged,” Zelenskyy said, noting that the strikes were again aimed at intimidating and demoralising civilians.
The President expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased in Odesa region, where one person lost his life and nine others, including children, were wounded in the attack. Meanwhile, rescue operations continue in Zaporizhzhia after heavy shelling killed eight people and injured more than 40, including four children.
Despite the aggressor’s relentless onslaught, Ukrainian air defence destroyed four aircraft missiles and about 60 attack drones last night, saving lives and reducing the scale of destruction. “I am grateful to our defenders of the sky, who are doing everything possible to protect people from this terror, and I am grateful to everyone who saves and helps our people,” Zelenskyy said.
The President also called on the international community to unite and act decisively against Russian terror, blocking its potential at every level. “Ukraine needs strength for this. This is the only way to achieve a just peace and stop the deaths of our people. Air defence, long-range, arms packages, sanctions against the aggressor – this is the answer that is needed not only in words but also in actions,” the President concluded, emphasising the need to support Ukraine in its struggle for the right to live in peace.
