Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that he will soon meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO chief Mark Rutte and leaders of the Nordic and Baltic states to discuss transatlantic cooperation and future support for Ukraine, Reuters reports.

This issue became particularly relevant after Donald Trump won the US election, as Trump criticised the level of US support for Ukraine and promised to end the conflict, although he did not specify how.

“The new political landscape is a serious challenge for everyone, especially in the context of the possible end of the war in Ukraine as a result of the agreements between Russia and the new US president,” Tusk said.

He noted that in the coming days Poland will coordinate actions with countries that share a common geopolitical approach to the situation in Ukraine. According to Tusk, Emmanuel Macron and Mark Rutte will soon visit Warsaw, and a meeting with the British prime minister will take place either in Warsaw or London. In addition, talks with the leaders of Northern Europe and the Baltic states are scheduled for Stockholm.

The Prime Minister of Poland also stressed the importance for Europe to be responsible for its own security and noted that the future of Ukraine cannot be decided without its participation.
