President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has developed four types of missiles that are currently being tested. He said this in an interview with Ukrainian Radio on 16 November.
According to the president, the war with Russia, which has lasted almost three years, has significantly accelerated the development of Ukraine’s technological potential. Changes in the private and public sectors have helped create an army that Zelenskyy called “technologically the strongest in Europe.”
“We have four types of missiles, and we are currently testing them. Next up are maritime drones, which have already destroyed a significant part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” Zelenskyy said.
Focus on drones and innovation
Although Ukraine has not yet reached the maximum in the production of drones and electronic warfare systems, the President emphasised the significant progress in this area. The 2025 budget provides UAH 775 billion for domestic orders for drone production alone.
“These funds are already available, and these are only our internal resources. Plus additional funding from international partners,” Zelensky stressed.
The President also noted that attracting foreign investment has helped to significantly expand the capabilities of the defence industry.
Ukrainian weapons as a deterrent
In addition to missiles, Ukraine’s successful use of maritime drones has been decisive in inflicting losses on the Russian Black Sea Fleet. According to the President, this demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian developments and significant progress in military technology.
“We are working well in the field of technology and weapons. Our achievements are not only a defensive but also a deterrent to the aggressor,” the Head of State added.
Zelenskyy stressed that the development of technology in the military sphere remains one of Ukraine’s priorities. According to him, strategic support from partners and domestic investment in the defence sector will allow Ukraine not only to defend itself but also to remain a leader in innovation in Europe.
