The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported a targeted air strike that killed Mohamad Afif, the chief propagandist and spokesman for the Hezbollah terrorist organisation. The operation was carried out in the centre of Beirut, based on intelligence.

“Today, the Israeli Defence Forces carried out a precision strike in the Beirut area, eliminating terrorist Mohamad Afif, the chief propagandist and representative of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation,” the IDF press service said.

According to the Israeli military, Afif was a high-ranking member of Hezbollah who coordinated communications with the organisation’s leaders and was directly involved in the planning and implementation of terrorist attacks against Israel.

Afif was also actively involved in information warfare: in his speeches in the Lebanese media, he promoted terrorism and led psychological operations against Israeli society.

This liquidation is another step in Israel’s campaign against terrorist cells in the region.
