Tuesday, 19 November 2024, marks the 410th day of hostilities between Israel and terrorist groups in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and the territories of Judea and Samaria. The military campaign, which began on 7 October 2023, continues amid intense fighting on several fronts. According to TimeUkraineIsrael , citing Newsru.co.il, Israeli forces are actively conducting operations in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, while Hezbollah continues to attack central Israel.
Morning attacks on Galilee and central Israel
At 08:00 in the morning, alarms were sounded in central Israel, including Netanya, Hadera, Herzliya and Ra’anana, due to massive rocket fire. The IDF recorded the launch of approximately five rockets from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted. According to the Israeli police, the rockets landed in the vicinity of Kfar Yona and Ra’anana, and significant damage was reported near the village of Batzra. In the A-Sharon region, the Magen David Adom ambulance service reported four injuries from glass shards.
IDF military operations in Lebanon
Throughout the day, the Israeli military continued operations in southern Lebanon, in particular in the Qatran and Jabour areas. At around 11:00, the IDF reported intercepting two drones approaching the Israeli border from Lebanon. Although the airborne targets did not cross the border, alarms were activated in the border areas.
Later, Israeli aircraft struck targets in the Lebanese district of Ma’arub, located about 25 km from the border. Lebanese sources also confirmed IDF airstrikes in the village of Al-Randouria, near Bint Jbeil.
Escalation of the conflict in Gaza and Judea and Samaria
Clashes between the IDF and local groups in Gaza, on the western border of the city, began at 07:00. According to reports from Gaza, Israeli artillery shelled positions in the Jabalia and Beit Lahiya areas in the north of the Strip. The Shujia area was also hit in the Strip.
At the same time, in Judea and Samaria, the IDF conducted operations near Kabatya and in the settlements of Salem and Qalqilia, where armed clashes with Palestinian militants took place. Palestinian sources reported three deaths in clashes with Israeli troops near Jenin.
Explosions and the threat of drone intrusion
Throughout the day, alarms were activated several times in the Upper Galilee, including in the settlements of Tzfat, Manari, Kiryat Shmona and Kfar Bloom. A false alarm in Tzfat caused panic, while a real “Tzeva hell” alarm sounded in Manar, warning of a possible rocket attack.
In the evening, Israeli intelligence reported that the pro-Iranian organisation Islamic Resistance in Iraq had attacked a “vital facility” in southern Israel using drones.
Hezbollah’s response and the escalation of the situation
At 00:00, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for an attack on a military facility in the centre of Israel, saying that its fighters had launched missiles and a “swarm” of attack drones in the direction of the Tel Haim military intelligence base. This increases the risk of further strikes deep into Israeli territory, as such attacks have become systematic by Lebanese pro-Iranian forces.
Key results of the day
The confrontation in Israel is escalating, indicating further expansion of the conflict. The IDF continues to conduct intense fighting on all fronts, including in Lebanon and Gaza, while deterring Hizbullah attacks. Tensions in the border zones with Lebanon and Gaza indicate the need for Israel to strengthen its defence measures and prepare for further challenges to national security.
