Security drills aimed at increasing preparedness for possible threats are regularly held in the capital. As reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) on 20 November, temporary checkpoints, restrictive signs and engineering barriers are being deployed as part of the exercises.
According to Serhiy Popko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the purpose of these measures is to improve management and coordination between different units to ensure public safety, especially in the face of a possible escalation of the situation.
“The main task of the exercise is to improve the system of management, organisation and interaction, as well as to ensure the protection of civilians,” said Popko.
What does the training involve?
- Deployment of temporary checkpoints.
- Increased document checks of residents and drivers.
- Demonstration, search and counter-sabotage activities.
Popko also stressed that similar training exercises will be held in Kyiv on a regular basis to ensure a high level of preparedness for possible threats.
These measures are aimed at maintaining public safety and ensuring that law enforcement and the military work together in the event of an emergency.
