On Friday, 22 November, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met with US President-elect Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida. The information was confirmed by the Alliance’s press service, which released a brief statement on Saturday, 23 November.
It is noted that during the talks, the parties discussed current global security challenges facing the North Atlantic Alliance. The Secretary General’s team also held a separate meeting with Congressman Mike Waltz and representatives of the future Trump administration responsible for national security.
“Mark Rutte and Donald Trump focused on issues of key importance to the Alliance and its Allies, including cybersecurity, countering authoritarian threats, and maintaining transatlantic unity,” the statement said.
