The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has published the schedule of operation of the electronic payment system (EPS) and the country’s banking system during the winter holidays. According to the regulator, the banking system will operate smoothly, providing access to financial services even during the holidays.
The mode of operation of the CPS
- 31 December 2024: The NBU’s Electronic Payment System (EPS) will operate on a 24/7 basis in accordance with the Technological Regulations.
- 1 January 2025: SEP will continue to operate 24/7, processing payments with the date of the current calendar day.
Key NBU systems and services
- The system of quantitative accounting of certificates of deposit (CERTIF), the NBU depository, and the automated information system “Credit agreements with non-residents” will operate as usual.
- The foreign exchange market, clearing and settlements within the National Payment System “Ukrainian Payment Space” (PROSTIR) will also remain unchanged.
- Payments in foreign currency through the State Treasury Service and JSC Ukreximbank will be made until 16:00 on 31 December.
Continuous access to finance
The NBU emphasises that due to the continuous 24/7 operation of the SEP, citizens and businesses will have access to banking services even during holidays.
This mode of operation will ensure the stability of the financial system in the period between the end of the reporting year and the beginning of the new one.
