The Ukrainian military is using electronic warfare to redirect Russian kamikaze drones back to Russia, Le Monde reports . In particular, the method of spoofing GPS coordinates, known as spoofing, is actively used for this purpose. This approach allows to change the coordinates of drones, which leads to cases when drones enter the territory of Belarus.
On 26 November, Russia launched one of its largest attacks on Ukraine, launching a record 188 Shahed drones. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian forces destroyed 76 drones using fighter jets, helicopters, and anti-aircraft missile systems. Another 95 drones were diverted from their targets by fake satellite coordinates.
The monitoring group ‘Belaruski Gaiun’ reported that on the night of 26 November, 17 drones entered the territory of Belarus, five of which went missing and two were allegedly shot down by Belarusian air defence near Mozyr.
