The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has officially authorised the use of the JCB HMEE high-speed armoured backhoe loader in the Defence Forces. This high-performance vehicle, which is widely used in armies around the world, has already proven to be a reliable assistant for engineering tasks in difficult conditions. This was reported by the Time Ukraine Israel news portal, citing the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
JCB HMEE: Reliability and speed for the Ukrainian army
The JCB HMEE ( High Mobility Engineer Excavator ) is an armoured machine that combines high mobility and power to perform engineering work in the field. Thanks to its characteristics, it is able to quickly and efficiently perform a wide range of tasks, from excavation to construction of fortifications, even in the most inaccessible areas.
“JCB HMEE excavators are distinguished by their reliability in combat operations and have proven their effectiveness in many armies around the world,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
Mobility and protection: The perfect combination for combat conditions
The excavator weighs about 16 tonnes, but this does not prevent it from reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h. This speed allows it to move quickly across the frontline, which is an important factor in responding quickly to the needs of the army. At the same time, the excavator is equipped with full protection for the crew, meeting all safety standards according to the international STANAG classification, which guarantees protection against injuries.
The four-wheel drive system, four-wheel steering and differential locking allow the JCB HMEE to operate on difficult, uneven surfaces and off-road with maximum efficiency. Reinforced suspension and brakes, which have been specially adapted for military use, ensure stable and safe operation of the excavator even in the most difficult conditions.

The cab of the armoured excavator is designed with ergonomics in mind to ensure maximum operator comfort and productivity. It is equipped with air conditioning to maintain optimum temperature conditions, even during long work in extreme conditions.
